Andrei Caval is a graduate of The Juilliard School, where he earned both a Master of Music (2023) and an Artist Diploma (2025), studying with professor Charles Neidich. He also completed the Orchestral Performance Program at Manhattan School of Music (2026), studying with Pascual Martínez-Forteza. Born in Bucharest, Romania, Andrei is an active performer and educator based in New Jersey and New York City.

As a soloist and orchestral musician, Andrei has performed extensively throughout Europe and the United States. He has appeared as a soloist with the Juilliard Lab Orchestra in Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center in New York City. His orchestral experience includes performances with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, and the New York City Ballet Orchestra. He was also a fellow at the Tanglewood Music Center, where he performed alongside and worked with renowned artists including pianist Emanuel Ax and conductors Andris Nelsons and Gustavo Dudamel.

In 2017, Andrei served as Principal Clarinet of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, performing at the BBC Proms in London and the Berlioz Festival in France. He has presented recitals at venues including St. James's Piccadilly in London, Stoller Hall in Manchester, and Paul Hall at The Juilliard School in New York City. In 2020, while completing his Bachelor of Music in London, he won the Clarinet Prize in the Royal College of Music Solo Woodwind Competition.

Teaching​

In addition to his performing career, Andrei has over 10 years of teaching experience and maintains a private clarinet studio based in New Jersey and New York City, offering both in-person and online lessons to students worldwide. He teaches students of all ages and levels, from beginners to advanced and pre-professional musicians. His teaching focuses on developing strong fundamentals, musical expression, audition preparation, and performance skills. Andrei prepares students for All-State auditions, pre-college and college programs, competitions, youth orchestra auditions, and other performance opportunities.
